Neighbourhood guide
The Rural Municipality of West St. Paul sits right on Winnipeg's northern boundary, on the west bank of the Red River. It's part of the Winnipeg Metro Region and was incorporated in 1915, when the old RM of St. Paul split into East and West St. Paul. Main Street, McPhillips Street and the Perimeter Highway all run through or along it, so getting into the city is easy.
The larger, southern community and the RM's historic heart. It's home to the municipal office, St. Paul's church, the curling club, the fire hall and Grassmere Creek. It's also the municipality's main settlement centre, where most of the newer, higher-density growth is happening.
The northern community, with larger lots, a more rural feel and quick access to the river. West St. Paul School and the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club are both here.
West St. Paul's largest residential community: a 380-acre master-planned development with three naturalized lakes, trails and public reserve land. It offers single-family, duplex and multi-family homes, and the province broke ground on a new K–8 school here in March 2026.
Established pockets south of the Perimeter, plus areas like Lister Rapids, River's Springs, Prairie Meadows, River's Edge Estates and the roads in between (Northumberland, Willis, Miller and Jackman). They range from riverside streets to multi-acre country properties.
Family life
West St. Paul is part of the Seven Oaks School Division. Catchments vary by address, so check yours with the division's School Locator before you buy.
